The house that served as the filming location for “Poltergeist” is up for sale for the very first time.
The two-story home in Simi Valley, about 40 miles northwest of Los Angeles, was built in 1979 and is a main character in the haunted house flick.
Despite its cinematic history, realtor Lauren Murdock wants potential buyers to know the home “is clean” and “ready to welcome a new family, without the ghostly antics.”
The 1982 horror film tells the frightening story of the Freeling family, who enter a world of scares upon moving into a new home unknowingly built upon a cemetery (in the movie at least).
The 2,373-square-foot home, which is listed for $1,174,999, features four bedrooms, three baths, a three-car garage, a pool, a jacuzzi, lots of closet space and other amenities, but no portals to another dimension.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live in a home with a story, minus the spooks,” reads the Zillow listing.
