Australians will be forced to quarantine after arriving for even longer even if they are vaccinated or face massive fines as a SIXTH case of Covid Omicron variant is confirmed

New South Wales has extended quarantine requirements for travellers and ramped up fines for anyone in breach of coronavirus rules as the new Omicron variant continues to spread in Australia.

There are now five cases in NSW after a woman on the Central Coast was confirmed to be infected by the super-mutant strain Tuesday – a sixth case is also in isolation in the Northern Territory.

Current measures which require travallers from nine African nations to undergo hotel quarantine for 14 days after arriving have been extended by Dominic Perrottet.

The premier also extended the 72-hour isolation requirement for vaccinated travelers arriving from other nations.

Under the rules arrivals must complete a PCR test and isolate for three days at a nominated address or accommodation.

Travellers will only be allowed to leave isolation once they’ve received a negative result and will then be required to undergo an additional PCR test on the sixth day after landing

MORE TO COME.
