North Korea madness! Kim outlaws skinny jeans & mullets in 'invasion of capitalism' fears

It is believed Kim Jong-un is increasingly worried about foreign influence in the secretive nation. Now, a state-run newspaper has warned more needs to be done to fight the “invasion of a capitalistic lifestyle” from the “decadent” West.

The Rodong Sinmun, an arm of the country’s ruling Worker’s Party, wrote: “History teaches us a crucial lesson that a country can become vulnerable and eventually collapse like a damp wall regardless of its economic and defence power if we do not hold on to our own lifestyle.”

The newspaper warned young people in Kim Jong-un’s hermit state are more likely to be influenced by the “exotic” lifestyle of capitalism.

The article continued: “We must be wary of even the slightest sign of the capitalistic lifestyle and fight to get rid of them.”

According to reports, Kim Jong-un has banned “non-socialist” hairstyles like the mullet.

Spikey and dyed hair has also been outlawed in the bizarre crackdown.

Under the new draconian laws, men and women must only have one of the 15 alternative haircuts.

According to Daily NK, the provincial Youth League issued an order on “proper” hairstyles.

The document said mullets and other unauthorised hairstyles are “anti-socialist behaviour” and are part of the “yellow wind of capitalism”.

They said artists are “bound to unbelievably unfair contracts from an early age, detained at their training and treated as slaves after being robbed of their body, mind and soul by the heads of vicious and corrupt art-related conglomerates”.

Last year, Kim Jong-un’s sister Kim Yo Jong labelled rebels sending leaflets, radios, US currency and Bibles over the border as “human scum”.

Ms Jong told Rodong Sinmun: “I would like to ask the South Korean authorities if they are ready to take care of the consequences of evil conduct done by the rubbish-like mongrel dogs who took no scruple to slander us while faulting the ‘nuclear issue’ in the meanest way at the most untimely time.

“I detest those who feign ignorance or encourage more than those who move to do others harm.”

As part of a campaign, which has been going on since 2004, defectors have been dropping leaflets opposing the current regime into the nation using hydrogen balloons.

Ms Jong went on to call the defectors as “human scum little short of wild animals who betrayed their own homeland”.

During the coronavirus pandemic, the hermit state continued to claim there were no reported cases of the deadly virus.

To combat the spread of the virus, the leader introduced a draconian rule allowing guards to shoot anyone trying to cross the border.

Imported goods into the country have also grown scarce as trade dwindled under the new restrictions.
