Nick Knowles, 58, reacted to a social media user on Twitter after the presenter announced his BBC show will return to viewers’ screens. The DIY SOS host shared that the emotionally charged programme will be back for a new episode but won’t be “promoted by the BBC”.

In view of his 157,000 Twitter followers, Nick urged viewers to retweet his announcement, as he explained the show would not be advertised on the channel.

He tweeted: “Announcement! Brand new to broadcast @DIYSOS Monday 9pm BBC1.

“Please RT as it won’t be promoted on the channel.”

A curious viewer quizzed: “Come on @MrNickKnowles you gotta tell us why they won’t promote the show!”

Nick and the team arrive in North Devon to create a new home for Jas, Lucy and their children – Hadley, two, Kenny, five and six-year-old triplets Lola, Daisy and Amber.

Jas tweeted: “I know three little girls who can’t wait for Monday night @MrNickKnowles.”

Nick replied: “I think the country is about to fall in love with your family. Sorry it’s taken so long to broadcast how’s the home?”

The dad-of-five replied: “That’s so sweet. Thank you. The house was and still is amazing from day one. But because of what was round the corner just a few months later with Covid-19, I honestly don’t know where we would be now. It certainly wouldn’t be together as a family. We all send our love.”

Nick added: “On behalf of the team we all send out love to you all. I might pop in for a cuppa when this madness is over.”(sic)

DIY SOS is in Barnstaple tonight and host Nick meets two little girls with a serious condition requiring heavy treatment every week.

Doctors diagnosed Daisy and Amber with Nephrotic syndrome – a condition that impacts the kidneys – after the pair fell seriously ill.

Due to their condition, both Daisy and Amber need 70 hours of blood-cleansing dialysis every week but there’s not enough room to accommodate all the equipment needed.

Nick and his team will get to work to assist the family in designing the perfect home to meet the family’s needs.

DIY SOS: The Big Build airs tonight on BBC One at 9pm.
