While NCIS’s latest twist certainly pulled at fans’ heartstrings, fans also levelled their fair share of criticism at the new season.
Some have noticed a worrying trend for the series to kill off or remove prominent female characters to bolster the development of the show’s male leads.
On Twitter, one fan said: “First Breena, then Jack, now Emily?! #NCIS why do you hate such amazing female characters?!”
