Murder probe launched after as woman's body found in south London park – roads clossed


At 5.23pm on Saturday September 18, Met Police officers were called to Kidbrooke Park Road, Greenwich, London, after a woman’s body was discovered. It is understood the body was found in the park area surrounding the Onespace Community Centre.

A police spokesperson said at the time: “Officers are working to identify the deceased and inform her next of kin.”

At 9.20pm, police confirmed a man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

A man was arrested at an address in Lewisham and is now in custody at a South London police station.

No further information has been given at this stage on either the man arrested or the victim.

On Twitter, the Met Police said there are “a number of crime scenes in place and enquiries are ongoing”.

The A2213 Kidbrooke Park Road is closed in both directions, between Weigall Road and Tudway Road, as part of the investigation. 

Bus routes 178, 335 and B16 being diverted.
