A 39-year-old woman and her 10-year-old son were found dead, their bodies badly decomposed, inside their Bronx NYCHA apartment, police said Thursday.
It appears the mother had a medical episode and died first, with no one to care for her son, who is confined to his bed and may have starved, police said.
The family dog was found alive in the Marble Hill Houses apartment on Broadway near W. 228th St. when cops arrived 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The door was locked and NYPD Emergency Service Unit cops were called to the scene and gained entry.
An autopsy will determine how the mother and son died.
