It was announced earlier this week that Microsoft will launch Windows 11 on October 5 and these new devices could be some of the first to ship with this updated operating system.

In a statement, Microsoft said: “We are thrilled to announce Windows 11 will start to become available on October 5, 2021. On this day, the free upgrade to Windows 11 will begin rolling out to eligible Windows 10 PCs and PCs that come pre-loaded with Windows 11 will start to become available for purchase. A new Windows experience, Windows 11 is designed to bring you closer to what you love.”

Although Windows 11 will be a free upgrade on compatible devices, Microsoft has confirmed that it won’t release the software to everyone in one go.

Instead, this will be a slow rollout so the only way to guarantee getting it first is to buy a new laptop and that could make the new surface machines look more tempting than ever.
