Apple AirPods remain the most popular wireless earbuds on the planet. However, like every product the Californian company makes, AirPods aren’t exactly cheap. Even the basic buds will set you back £159, start adding wireless charging cases and you won’t get much change from £200. Ouch!
If all sounds like too much for your credit card to cope with, the latest wireless earbuds to compete with Apple’s AirPods might be the answer. The team at audio firm Skullcandy have announced the launch of their new all-new Dime True Wireless Earbuds, which can be plugged into your ears for just £29.99. Yes, you did read that correctly.
For less than the price that Apple charges for a replacement case for your AirPods, you’ll be treated to a pair of Bluetooth ‘buds with a compact design, noise-isolating fit, and built-in microphones so you can make calls without digging your phone out of your pocket.
The ‘buds should keep the music playing for around 3.5 hours on a full charge. When Skullcandy’s earbuds start to run low, pop them in the carry case to recharge them. The case packs a total of 12 hours of audio playback before you’ll need to find a plug.

Speaking about the launch, Jeff Hutchings, Skullcandy Chief Product Officer, said: “Despite being the fastest-growing segment in stereo headphones, true wireless earbuds still account for less than half of the market.
“Our all-new Dime True Wireless Earbuds are intent on changing that. Offering stellar sound and unmatched simplicity at a price that makes it possible to throw a pair in every bag, Dime breaks down all barriers formerly associated with true wireless.”
If you fancy the Dime True Wireless Earbuds they will be available soon in Dark Blue/Green, Light Grey/Blue, Dark Grey and True Black. Skullcandy’s new earbuds work with both iPhone and Android.
