BBC News regular Clive Myrie has today been announced as the man taking over from John Humphrys on the long-running quiz show, Mastermind. John spent 18 years as the face of the show prior to announcing his exit in 2021 in his Daily Mail column, writing: “When the present series comes to an end in March there will be someone else in the chair.”
Now, Clive is the one BBC show bosses have decided to hand the reins too.
Reacting to landing the role, Clive said [via PA]: “What a privilege it is to take on this new role.
“Mastermind with Magnus Magnusson formed the backdrop to my youth and now to be at the helm is a dream come true.
“I’m excited and can’t wait to get stuck in.”
