Manchester United are weighing up a late £50million summer deal for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson.
The Red Devils have been monitoring the Republic of Ireland international since he made his debut and there are concerns they could be beaten by Chelsea to the 19-year-old’s signature.
According to the Daily Star, INEOS CEO Sir Jim Ratcliffe could be tempted to launch a £50m bid for the teenager, who is currently out injured.
United started the Community Shield with Bruno Fernandes up front with Rasmus Hojlund out injured and Joshua Zirkzee not yet match fit, with Ferguson viewed as a long-term signing for the future.
