Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has taken to social media this morning after the Big Six pulled out of the European Super League. He posted a picture of United’s title celebration back in 2013 with the caption: “Let’s all stay UNITED.”

United were one of the 12 founders of the proposed new league along with fellow Premier League sides Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham.

Spanish giants Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, as well as Serie A clubs Inter Milan, Juventus and AC Milan, were also part of the competition.

Three more clubs were set to be announced with five spots open for qualification in the European Super League each year.

The Big Six have all pulled out though after backlash from fans, managers, players and pundits alike.

Maguire even confronted Ed Woodward over United’s involvement in the competition, according to the Daily Mail.
