Around 500 people had to be evacuated by staff after a fire broke out underneath a Tube. Victoria Station and Green Park are currently closed after the blaze. The Victoria line is also part suspended between Brixton and Warren Street due to the fire.
London Fire Brigade reported the fire occurred in a battery compartment under a train at platform three heading northbound.
The fire bridge were called to the platform at 11.40am, with the blaze under control by 1.05pm.
The rest of the Victoria line is experiencing severe delays as a result of the blaze.
On the Transport for London (TfL) website, notices have warned those travelling of “severe delays”.
It said: “Victoria Line: No service between Brixton and Warren Street and SEVERE DELAYS on the rest of the line due to a fire alert at Victoria.
“Tickets are being accepted on London Buses, London Overground, Southeastern, South Western Railway, Great Northern and Greater Anglia.”

LBC collected responses from social media from witnesses to the fire.
One user posted at 12:38pm: “Green Park just got evacuated. Smoke coming from Victoria line tunnels.
“Everyone is fine btw.”
Another user said, after joking the Victoria line is “painfully hot”: “I say that and there was literally a fire at Victoria Station.”
