Lockdown remains in place this week, although in a lighter form. March 29 marks the next scheduled step on the Government’s lockdown plan, which should eventually bring the country back to “normal” by summer. Today, people can venture out to meet more people than the rules previously allowed.
What rules have changed today?
The focus of today’s rule changes is social contact, much like the previous roadmap step on March 8.
When children returned to school earlier this month, people were allowed to visit one other person outside.
But now they’re off for the Easter break, people can meet more friends or family members.

The rule of six or two households rule also applies to private gardens.
Beyond this, the Government has also expanded the number of activities in which people can participate.
Outdoor sporting facilities can reopen from today as well, including tennis or basketball courts.
People can travel further to make use of them as ministers strike down the stay at home rule.
