Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp let down by three players in Fulham Premier League defeat

Liverpool saw their terrible Premier League form at Anfield continue on Sunday. Fulham picked up all three points in their Premier League showdown, with Mario Lemina scoring the only goal of the game. Express Sport will now take a look at the three players who let the Reds down as they slumped to another disappointing defeat.

Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah has, typically, been in blistering form for Liverpool this season.

But the Egypt international looked flat against Fulham and it was his poor defensive work that led to Lemina’s goal.

Salah was weak in opposing the Cottagers star, who rifled a powerful effort that sailed beyond the reach of Alisson Becker.

Going forward, there’s no denying the Liverpool forward is the best on the planet.

But his poor defensive work cost them dearly, giving Scott Parker’s side a vital three points in their battle against relegation.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Liverpool gave a rare start to Xherdan Shaqiri on Sunday.

But, like many of his team-mates, the Switzerland international produced an anonymous display as Fulham took all three points.

With Sadio Mane benched, this was his chance to shine.

And Shaqiri failed to take it.

All signs point to the former Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Stoke City star being sold this summer because he simply doesn’t appear to be fully at the races.

Liverpool next five fixtures:

RB Leipzig – Champions League – March 10

Wolves – Premier League – March 15

Arsenal – Premier League – April 3

Aston Villa – Premier League – April 10

Leeds United – Premier League – April 17
