Lidl shared its food recall warning today and urged customers to check for the affected items. Earlier this week, Tesco also released a warning for biscuits sold in stores.

The packs being recalled are 750 grams with the best before date of March 1, 2021.

A Lidl statement said: “Lidl GB is recalling the above mentioned product due to the potential presence of small pieces of plastic in the product.”

Anyone who has purchased the food item has been asked not to eat it and instead return it to stores where possible.

“If you have bought the above mentioned product with the affected Use By date, we advise you not to eat this,” the statement continued.

DON’T MISS

“Instead, return it to a Lidl GB store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.

“Alternatively, please dispose of the product and email [email protected] including a photo of the affected product and Use By date.

“The Customer Services team will process this refund via letter. Lidl GB wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

The recall is specific to food items sold in stores in England and Wales. No other dates of the product are known to be affected.

Customers should check for batches with the best before date of May 2021.

A Tesco statement said: “If you have a peanut allergy, please don’t eat this product.

“Instead, please return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.”

No other batches of the biscuits are known to be affected.
