The boss at Mercedes, Toto Wolff, shared Hamilton’s sentiments, saying they, as a team, were very proud of what the black livery represented last season, and continue with their push for equality in the sport.
Wolff said: “The black livery that we had last year became an iconic livery, and we are very proud about the message behind this livery, and also how it looked.
“This year, it’s very similar, but the silver keeps sneaking back in, but at the end of the day it is a silver arrow, that is our heritage and we’re very proud of carrying that.”
Speaking at the launch of the new car, the Mercedes W12, which is an upgraded version of last season’s championship winning car, Hamilton was reflective on his time at Mercedes.
