Lauren Boebert’s ex-husband pleads guilty to reckless endangerment

Rep. Lauren Boebert’s ex-husband Jayson Boebert pleaded guilty Wednesday to reckless endangerment following multiple incidents involving the controversial congresswoman and their son, according to court documents.

He’s set to serve six months of unsupervised probation as a result the plea. Additional charges, which have now been dismissed, included prohibited use of a weapon, harassment and third-degree assault.

Jayson Boebert was taken into custody Jan. 9 following a public altercation with his ex-wife that unfolded days earlier at the Miner’s Claim restaurant in Silt, Colo.

The duo were reportedly having drinks at the restaurant on Jan. 6 when Jayson called the cops, alleging his ex punched him in the face during an argument. She admitted afterward to placing a finger on his nose, and she was later cleared of wrongdoing.

Boebert, whose rise to national fame was fueled by inflammatory pro-Trump comments, told police after the spat that she believed her ex had been misbehaving in a bid to “make her suffer” in the wake of their recent split, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Denver Post.

Days later, Jayson was involved in a physical confrontation with their 18-year-old son, according to court documents. The father is accused of shoving the teen during a spat inside their home on in the early hours of Jan. 9. He also allegedly grabbed his rifle when his son phoned the sheriff’s office for assistance.

Jayson Boebert had been drinking at a bar prior to the argument, according to an affidavit. Lauren Boebert was reportedly not present during the altercation.
