WHEN Keir Hardie founded the Labour Party in 1893, he declared it existed to give the working man and woman a voice — not to pander to the middle classes.
Fast forward to 2025 and the current Labour Party, now led by Sir Keir Starmer, has upended those roots.

Since the General Election last year, Starmer’s government has hit the very communities across the Midlands and the North that Keir Hardie set out to serve.
Labour has lost touch with its traditional supporters.
New research out today by Survation shows that voters back me over the Prime Minister to represent working people, fix our broken immigration system and get things done.
This comes as no surprise when you think about the Government’s record to date.

Take the economy. Labour was elected last July on the promise of growth.
Yet growth has been flatlining throughout most of 2024, with any small increases due to the exploding population.
And let’s not forget that our Chancellor — Rachel from accounts — raised taxes by £40billion in her first budget last November.
The National Insurance hike from this month will have a terrible impact on small businesses.
This, coupled with the frozen income tax thresholds, means millions will end up paying more under Labour.
That means less money to cover rent, the weekly shop or a pint down the pub.
Life’s more expensive under Labour.
We are living through a period of economic and social decline.
The declaration of war on up to ten million pensioners by slashing the Winter Fuel Allowance was a disgrace.
The £1.4billion this saved went to Labour’s friends in the public sector, many of whom work from home.
Strivers who wake up early and get home late got tax rises from Starmer instead.
And the heart of rural Britain has been kicked in the teeth by him, too, thanks to the introduction of inheritance tax on small family farms.
Many will be forced to sell, threatening food security.

Then there’s energy.
Labour promised to cut bills by £300 annually, but they have gone up by nearly £300 instead after Ofgem raised the price cap from April 1.
Their obsession with Net Zero means even higher bills for pensioners, who are already choosing between heating and eating.

Energy Secretary Ed Miliband recently unveiled a £22billion investment in green policies.
That might sound nice in Westminster, but it won’t put food on the table in places like Co Durham.
Labour’s biggest betrayal of the Red Wall is immigration. Starmer swore he would “smash the gangs”.
The only thing he’s smashing is illegal immigration records. Over 35,000 have crossed the Channel since he came to power.
The numbers have risen 46 per cent in 2025 and Sunday was the biggest day for crossings this year.
Those coming here are mostly young men of fighting age. British taxpayers pay £6million a day to put them up in hotels.
They get free health and dental treatment. This has to end.
Reform UK would leave the ECHR — which makes it possible for so many of them to stay here — and ensure that anybody entering our country illegally is deported.
Keir Hardie would be turning in his grave. Labour no longer represents hardworking Brits.
