Kate Garraway's GMB co-star Ranvir Singh 'crushed' she can't do more to help her

Kate Garraway, 53, like many of us, has had an incredibly tough year but she’s been forever thankful for the support she’s received not only from her friends and family but the public, too. As her husband Derek Draper continues to battle health issues in hospital following contracting coronavirus back in March 2020, her Good Morning Britain colleagues have spoken out about how they’ve been trying to help her and her two children Darcey, 14, and William, 11, throughout this challenging time.

But Ranvir Singh admitted that it’s a “crushing” feeling knowing that they can’t do more as lockdown prevents them from physically lending a hand.

In a recent interview, the former Strictly Come Dancing star said: “If I could be in her bubble and in her kitchen cooking for her, I would.

“All I can do is call to talk or send things in the post.

“When Kate told me her kids are into eating fruit, I sent them a basket of fruit.”

“I asked her, ‘How do you do it?’ and she said, ‘You just have to accept that you can’t do everything.’”

But the GMB star is getting on with life as best she can, managing to keep her family in high-spirits considering their turmoil.

Lately, she shared a video of William to her 977,000 Instagram followers as he pretended to do his homeschooling work.

The youngster set the camera up as he explained he should be doing his school work but instead was watching TV.

Checking on her son’s progress, Kate then caught him out and proceeded to throw plastic balls at him.

In quick response, William reached for a lightsaber and chased after the presenter.

She opened up on her struggles with homeschooling both Darcey and William in the caption, writing: “Where have you got to with homeschooling in your house?

“This is where we are! Think it was me that learnt a lesson here – don’t mess with an 11-year-old with a lightsaber!”
