The British royal couple were the first to appear in the video, followed by US President Joe Biden, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado of Japan, Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, and Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg.
All world leaders filmed a short message each to mark Ireland’s national day, which is celebrated today, March 17, all over the world.
The holiday has been observed by Irish people for more than 1,000 years and, traditionally, Irish families would attend church in the morning and celebrate by dancing, drinking, and eating in the evening.
In the St. Patrick’s Day video on Twitter, put together by the Irish Foreign Ministry, Kate and William spoke in unison, saying: “Happy St. Patrick’s Day.”
