Juventus ‘agree personal terms with to Dusan Vlahovic to sign him in £62m deal from Fiorentina… with agreement seeing Serbian striker earn nearly £6m net per season in Turin’

  • Dusan Vlahovic had been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal from Fiorentina
  • But now reports suggest Juventus have agreed terms with him and Serie A side
  • He is set to leave La Viola for Juve in a deal worth around £62.4million

Juventus have struck a deal with Fiorentina and Dusan Vlahovic to sign the Serbia forward this month.

The 21-year-old striker had been heavily linked with a mega-money move to Arsenal, with the Gunners making him their No 1 target.

But Guardian journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed the Serie A giants will now land the 14-cap Serbia international in a deal worth £62.4million (€75m).

He also claims adds on are included in that fee and that Vlahovic will earn £5.8m (€7m) per season net at the Allianz Stadium.

Romano adds Vlahovic will now travel to Turin to undergo a medical before signing a ‘long-term contract’ soon.

The news brings one of the sagas of the January window to a close, with the news a definitive blow to Mikel Arteta and Arsenal.

Vlahovic has 20 goals in 24 matches for La Viola this season and was seen as an upgrade on Gunners outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Reports, such as The Athletic, have claimed that Arsenal have already turned their attention to other targets that include Real Sociedad and Sweden striker Alexander Isak, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Luka Jovic could also be pursued this month.

Isak extended his contract last October and Sociedad capitalised on the chance to insert a €90million (£75m) release in the deal.

Arsenal have just three recognised first-team strikers available for them at the moment in Gabriel Martinelli, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah.

Former club captain Aubameyang has not featured for the club since the start of December after seeing the armband taken away from him due to repeated disciplinary breaches.

Both Lacazette and Nketiah will see their contracts expire at the end of the season, while Sportsmail revealed last week that Aubameyang has been the subject of interest from Saudi Arabian teams.

Young forward Folarin Balogun left the club in January to join Middlesbrough on loan.
