Jamie Redknapp crashes Harry Redknapp interview as he shows up topless on screen

Former West Ham and Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp was sharing his thoughts on the planned European Super League with talkRADIO last night when son Jamie Redknapp ‘photobombed’ the interview. Son Jamie looked like he had just hopped out of the shower while dad Harry was having a chat with radio host Mark Dolan. The Sky Sports pundit accidentally crashed his dad’s interview and then paused to see what was going on, diving behind a door for cover when he realised Harry was giving a video interview.

But the former Liverpool and Spurs player then stopped to see who his dad was talking to.

In a hilarious clip, Jamie lingers in the doorway and looks over the shoulder of his old man.

Dad Harry was still explaining how the ESL will be more like the American sports system where no-one is relegated when he appeared to realise what might be going on.

Jamie then proceeded to slip behind the cover of the door and left the shot to the amusement of viewers.

The sight which has been more commonplace over the course of the pandemic comes following a turbulent 24 hours for the world of football.

The proposed ESL will see 20 clubs from across Europe compete in a midweek league where the 15 founder members, including six Prem teams, cannot be relegated, the clubs are set to share a pot of over £3.5 billion but the plans have sparked outrage amongst the footballing community.

And yesterday Prime Minister Boris Johnson promised football fans prior to Tuesday’s meeting of the remaining 14 Premier League clubs he will do everything possible to give the “ludicrous” new league a “straight red”.

Writing in The Sun, the Prime Minister said he was “horrified” at the implications for clubs up and down the country which had a “unique place” at the heart of their communities.

The Duke of Cambridge – who is the president of the Football Association – was among those who voiced his dismay at the “damage” the plan would do to the national game.

And earlier this morning former England manager Sven Goran Erikson told Good Morning Britain that he “absolutely cannot see” the ESL going ahead.

In an angry rant, Sven said: “I strongly say, no don’t do it because that will take away the dream of football.

Today the remaining 14 clubs in the Premier League not involved in the plans will hold an extraordinary emergency meeting to decide what to do about the so-called ‘Shameless Six’.
