Claressa Shields aims a dig at Jake Paul as boxing superstar claims she would ‘EMBARRASS’ YouTube novice in the ring… and she would only need ‘one hand’ to dismantle the American!

  • Claressa Shields says she would ’embarrass’ Jake Paul in a boxing clash
  • The YouTuber is gaining serious traction since making his foray into boxing
  • However, boxing superstar Shields has labelled the novice a ‘play-fighter’
  • Shields, 26, says she would beat Paul, 24, with just the one hand in the ring

Claressa Shields insists she would ’embarrass’ Jake Paul if the pair were to ever meet in the ring as the accomplished boxing champion claimed she could beat the ‘play-fighter’ with one hand.

Paul, 24, has gained a lot of traction since foraying into the world of boxing, having taken on the likes of Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren during his short career thus far.

Shields has previously claimed it would be a ‘disrespect’ to ask her to perform on the under-card of a Paul show, with Daniel Dubois, Tommy Fury and Amanda Serrano all fighting before his clash with Woodley earlier this year.

And now the fighter dubbed the GWOAT (Greatest Woman Of All Time) has aimed another dig at the YouTuber, claiming she would toy with him in a sparring contest.

‘I don’t know what world people live in that they think a man [could beat me] who has not been to the Olympics, who has not fought professionally,’ she told Sky Sports.

‘There are a lot of women in boxing who could [out-box] men, especially a regular joe like Jake Paul!

‘I know it’s too much to fight him because it would be too embarrassing [for him], but if I were to spar Jake, I could use one hand.

‘Just my jab, I wouldn’t even have to use the banger. Just my jab – I would out-jab, out-hook and out-uppercut him. I would embarrass him.

‘This isn’t a shot at Jake Paul. This is how skilled I am. You’re not as great a boxer as me. If you are? Go to the Olympics and [win a] medal! Go!

‘Because I sparred those guys too who are Olympic silver and gold medallists. Jake couldn’t grace the ring with those guys because they would destroy him, just like I would.

However, boxing star Shields insists she would need just one hand to dismantle the American

‘This isn’t disrespectful. I am a skilled boxer – respect it and know it. Just because I’m a woman? This is real-life stuff. I box for real. I’m not a play-fighter.’

Shields currently has her sights set on a tilt at mixed martial arts. The 26-year-old won her MMA debut with a third-round stoppage earlier this year and takes on Abigail Montes on Wednesday night.

The American is a two-time Olympic gold medallist, three-division world champion and two-division undisputed champion and is on a collision course to face Savannah Marshall in her next boxing bout.
