Jake Paul could get ‘hurt badly’ when he collides with Tommy Fury later this month, fears Amir Khan.

Paul, the YouTube sensation turned boxer, is closing in on the toughest test of his professional career to date against Fury on December 18.

The 24-year-old has recorded four straight victories since venturing into boxing, although those wins have come against two former UFC fighters, a retired NBA player and a fellow YouTuber.

Fury is also a novice in the pro game having racked up seven straightforward wins thus far, yet as the brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson he will be expected to prevail.

Khan certainly expects the Brit to come out on top, tipping him to go on and become world champion while foreboding a painful evening for Paul.

‘I think Tommy’s a great guy and a great fighter,’ Khan told Pro Boxing Fans.

‘I know Tyson, his brother, really well. But I just feel that Jake Paul is going to get hurt in this fight.

‘I like Jake as a fighter, he’s messaged me a couple of times, but at the end of day Tommy is a future champion and he wants to fight someone like that, (Paul) can get hurt badly.’

Paul’s first professional outing came back in January 2020, when he wiped out fellow YouTube star AnEsonGib within one round.

The American then brutally knocked out ex-NBA player Nate Robinson 10 months later, before recording his two most impressive wins yet over former UFC men Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley.

Both Paul and Fury are lacking significant professional experience heading into the bout

And ahead of his showdown with Fury, Paul’s trainer BJ Flores has insisted his man isn’t fazed in the slightest.

‘Jake is a tireless worker. He has zero fear of Tommy or his last name and that will be very obvious when the first bell sounds,’ Flores told BoxingScene.

‘This is a great fight between two young undefeated guys who are willing to lay it all on the line.

‘A lot is at stake here. The Fury name is legendary and this is a very serious challenge to us. Massive credit to both fighters.’
