DEAR DEIDRE: I THINK I’ve met The One but he’s not ready to commit.

He’s still grieving his wife and has said he’s not sure when he will be ready.
We met online two months ago. He is 45 and I am 47.

The man I fell in love with is not ready to commit as he is still grieving his wife

He has always been honest that I am the first person he has dated since his wife died of breast cancer last year.

He reassured me that he was ready to get back out there – but then last month he did a total 180.

He said he needs more time to grieve and he feels like he is cheating on her.
I completely respect this. The problem is, I’ve fallen for him.

I want to tell him I’d like to give it another go when he feels truly ready.

But at the same time, I know I can’t just sit around and wait for him.

DEIDRE SAYS: There is no harm in telling him that you want to give your relationship another go, but you could be waiting a long time for this to happen.

Don’t put your social life on hold – continue to spend time with friends and family, and be open to meeting new people.

I’m sending you my support pack Widening Your Social Circle to help.

Meeting new people will also be a good distraction from the hurt you are feeling.
