Mr Dimitrov said putting shoes in the washing machine can sometimes damage them, even if you put them on a gentle cycle.
Some shoes, like leather ones, also can’t be put in the machine.
Instead, the laundry expert recommends putting the stinky shoes in an air-tight freezer bag and then leave them in the freezer for around 24 hours.
He added: “The stark, cold temperature will help to eliminate the bacteria causing the smell.”
