Irish Champions Weekend: Free bets, tips, dates and full racecard for two-day Leopardstown showpiece

GET ready for a huge two days of action at Leopardstown and the Curragh over Irish Champions Weekend.

The action begins on Saturday, September 11 at Leopardstown and will feature clashes between some of the best horses on both sides of the Irish sea.

Irish Champions Weekend will be a fantastic weekend of racing

There are six Group 1 contests over the two days, with over €4.6million in prize-money on offer.

The big races

The standout race over the two days is Saturday’s Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown.

This year’s running promises to be spectacular, with top-classy filly Tarnawa and leading three-year-old colt St Mark’s Basilica leading an all-star field.

On Sunday the Curragh hosts no less than four Group 1s, with the Cazoo Irish St Leger the marquee event.

Search For A Song has won the last two runnings of the prestigious stayers’ contest and returns to defend his crown this season.

Another to look at for on Sunday is the Aidan O’Brien-trained Point Lonsdale, who puts his unbeaten record on the line in the Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes

How can I watch?

The action will available to watch at home on RTE over the two days, with ITV set to screen Irish Champion Stakes on Saturday and the Irish St Leger on Sunday.

Subscribers to Racing TV will be able to enjoy each of the 16 races live over the weekend.
