Insulate Britain LIVE: Eco mob blocks major roundabout near M25 in Kent – public hits back

The Insulate Britain eco-protest group have continued their protest in the streets, defying a court ban that could lead to jail time and fines. This time they’re blocking a major roundabout near M25 in Kent causing chaos and riling up drivers on their way to work and school.

The group are protesting in demand for all UK homes be insulated by 2030 for economic and environmental reasons. They are not giving up a fight and have insisted they will defy court orders and keep the pressuring the Government.

But their tactics have infuriated Britons. They’ve spent weeks on the roads, glueing themselves to the streets and blocking cars from getting to school and urgent hospital appointments, despite being hit with injunctions which ban them from major roads.

Grant Shapps, the transport secretary, said the activists are causing “intolerable disruption to motorists’ lives and livelihoods”.

But Insulate Britain bit back by saying they’re “not concerned with endless injunctions.”

They continued: “You can’t imprison a flood, there are no unlimited fines against a famine, you can’t bankrupt a fire,” it added.

The government are said to be “making use of every avenue of existing law to try to prevent the continued life-endangering action being carried out by Insulate Britain”.
