Emma Hayes has revealed incoming Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has made his first contact on a visit to their Cobham training ground – and believes he is a ‘perfect fit’ for the club after having lunch with the American on Friday.
Like Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea Women’s manager Hayes is currently unable to sign or speak to any new players due to the government sanctions placed on the club.
Tuchel has previously said he is yet to meet with – or speak to – Boehly but, given his Friday visit to Cobham, is likely to have also met with him on Friday.

Chelsea Women manager Emma Hayes stated that Boehly is ‘passionate’ and ‘ambitious’
Hayes sat down with LA Dodgers owner Boehly ahead of her side’s FA Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday and discussions over the future were overwhelmingly positive.
‘I had lunch with Todd,’ Hayes revealed. ‘He watched the girls train, I had a really lovely couple of hours with him.
‘[He was] delightful, really passionate, he’s just a normal down to earth guy, really passionate about Chelsea, he loves Chelsea.
‘He’s ambitious, as we are, and it’s a perfect fit. I saw him at one of the games he went to at Stamford Bridge but he was upstairs and I was downstairs!’
Chelsea are looking to make it a league and Cup double on Sunday and will have Fran Kirby available for the first time since February.
The forward has overcome a fatigue-related illness to put herself in contention for the final game of the season at Wembley.
Boehly is also likely to have met Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel to discuss his plans

‘We’ve got a full strength squad to pick from including Fran Kirby so we’re in a much better position than we were going into the Conti Cup final,’ Hayes said.
‘I don’t want to put any pressure on her because I love that kid and she’s been through a lot but she looked like she hadn’t been away, she looked that good in training and it’s nice to see the smile on her face.
‘She’s participated in everything when we said at the start of the week “let’s see how we go.”
‘Let’s do one session, day one, and she came out of that and said it’s not enough, then we did day two and I said let’s use you as a neutral or you play half blocks of game and she said “I’m fine.” She’s been in training all well so I’m over the moon to be honest.
