0

As February is nearly over, many people will start their spring clean soon and one task many people dread is cleaning the bathroom. Some may delay cleaning their bathroom tiles because they see it as a tedious task, but cleaning bathroom tiles doesn’t need to take up your whole day. Here are some simple and easy tips for cleaning bathroom tiles.

How to clean grout

Before cleaning your actual bathroom wall tiles, you’ll need to clean the grout in between the tiles.

You can clean your bathroom tile grout using some simple items you can probably find around your house.

According to Good Housekeeping, you can start by mixing some bicarbonate of soda and water to make a paste.

Then using an old toothbrush you don’t need anymore, rub the paste onto the grout.

You can then use a spray bottle to squirt vinegar over the paste on the grout, which will cause it to bubble up and thicken.

After a good scrub with the toothbrush, rinse the grout well with water.

For more stubborn grout stains, you might want to consider using a strong cleaning product designed for grout.

Similarly, a grout pen can make grout look sparkly and new without having to replace the existing grout.

There are a number of specialist cleaning products available for grout on the market, but these aren’t always necessary.

Victorian Plumbing explains how to tackle grout on their website: “Now, you could use specialist cleaners here; you could also use chlorine-based bleach, but these products are best left alone unless you have significant staining or mould growth present.

“It’s worth mentioning as a word of caution that you shouldn’t use bleach or strong cleaners on coloured or dark grouting as they can fade the finish, spoiling the overall look of the room.

“It’s a good idea to leave the bathroom door and windows open to avoid breathing in any chemicals, and gloves should be worn as some products might cause irritation if they get on your skin (not good!)”
