Horror as bullies throw dog poo and rocks at grave of girl, 12, who killed herself

Semina Halliwell, from Southport, Liverpool, died four days after being admitted to hospital on June 12. The 12-year-old girl took her own life after being bullied and allegedly raped, according to her mother.

Rachel Halliwell, Semina’s mother, previously shared her heartbreak at her daughter’s death and said she feared “bullies” would gate-crash her funeral.

On Tuesday, a family friend found Semina’s grave had been “completely desecrated”.

Mrs Halliwell said: “It was covered in bricks and rocks and there was dog mess all over it.

“It was clearly done on purpose. Heartless disgusting vile people.

“There are no words to describe these evil people that could do this to a 12-year-old girl’s grave.”

According to the Liverpool Echo, the grave has since been cleaned by those who love Semina.

The outlet saw screenshots at the time of Semina’s death that appeared to show people making fun of her passing and threatening to “trash” her grave on Snapchat.

Another screenshot seen on Wednesday by the outlet appeared to show someone offering money to anyone who would “trash” Semina’s grave and film it.

Mrs Halliwell previously claimed to the Echo Semina had reported being raped and then bullied online about the ordeal.

Merseyside Police has confirmed it is investigating a report of rape at an address in Southport on February 25.

A spokesman said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing into this allegation and other matters relating to the same alleged victim, and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.”

Mrs Halliwell also shared footage to the Liverpool Echo of Semina appearing to be pushed over and mocked by young people.

Speaking to the outlet earlier this year, Mrs Halliwell said there is a “void in her heart that can never be filled” after her daughter’s death.

She said: “She was so beautiful, and so funny. She loved singing and dancing.

“She had been asked by model agencies to work for them but she wasn’t confident enough. She didn’t see how beautiful she was.

“She was loving and caring, and loved her brothers Rafy and Jorge so much, and she was so loved by friends and family, far and wide.

“I am heartbroken beyond words. There is a void in my heart that can never be filled.”

Community Inspector Graham Fisher said: “The community will no doubt share our shock and revulsion that a grave could be desecrated like this.

“This is the final resting place of a beloved family member, and I can only imagine how upsetting it must have been for their loved ones to find that the grave had been treated in this way.

“While thankfully no permanent damage has been caused, it will have caused lasting distress to the family.

“I want to appeal to anyone who may have been visiting the cemetery in recent days and witnessed anything suspicious to contact us so that we can bring the perpetrators of this callous crime to justice.”
