FORMER Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos has come to the defence of Mikel Arteta by responding to Piers Morgan’s criticism.
Morgan took to Twitter to share his views on Arsenal’s 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday.

The 57-year-old argued that Arteta made a “season-wrecking mistake” by allowing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join Barcelona for free in January.
He said: “This is actually a moment when Arsenal fans need to accept Arteta made a massive season-wrecking mistake in giving away Aubameyang and relying on Lacazette to lead the line.
“I said it would come back to haunt us – and it is.”
The disappointing result left the Gunners in fifth – outside the Champions League positions.

However, Dani Ceballos, who enjoyed a two-year loan spell in North London, was quick to come to the defence of his former boss.
He responded by writing: “Friend, let him work, he is very good.
“He will also take Arsenal to where they deserve. Patience.”
Morgan has been highly critical of Arteta in the past and even suggested that he should be replaced by Arsenal legend and Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira.

Following the Gunners’ defeat on Monday, he dug out a tweet that he posted back in November which said: “We’ve got the wrong ex-Arsenal captain in charge. On tonight’s evidence, this (Vieira) is the guy we need.”
He referred back to it, stating: “Deja vu.”
“Vieira’s Palace giving us a lesson in aggression, desire and physicality. Least surprising revelation of the Millennium.
“BREAKING: Lacazette’s now gone 18 HOURS of Premier League football without scoring in open play. But yeah, so glad we got rid of Aubameyang.” He added.
Arsenal are still in the running for a place in the Champions League, but they face tough competition from Tottenham, Manchester United and West Ham.
