Gypsy Rose Blanchard has opened up about her sexuality, revealing in the latest episode of her Lifetime docuseries, “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up,” that she thinks she may have “kissed more girls than guys.”
The episode features the 32-year-old candidly opening up about her self-consciousness and her relationship with her former husband, Ryan Anderson, as seen in a clip shared by TMZ.
“A big part of womanhood is learning to be comfortable with their sexuality and for years I wasn’t,” she tells the camera. “I’m self-conscious because I have scars all over my body, and I had a lot of surgeries that were unnecessary so I’m like, ‘Am I gonna be what he wants me to be? Am I attractive to him?’ Even to the point that I’m like, ‘Don’t even look at me down there.’”
Blanchard spent nearly eight years behind bars at Missouri’s Chillicothe Correctional Center, for persuading then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn to murder her allegedly abusive mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. But during her time in prison, she says she was able to explore her desires.
“For a long time, I actually kinda questioned my sexuality because as a teenage or preteen I felt that I was attracted to girls and I got to experiment with that in prison,” she continues. “I think I’ve kissed more girls than I have guys. I had such big fears that I’m not gonna like sex.”
Blanchard shared that she has since been “discovering” things about herself after having sex with her husband: “I’m like, ‘I’m a freak.’”
She and Anderson were married in June 2022, while Blanchard was still behind bars. The couple separated and began a messy divorce earlier this year, just three months after she was released from prison.
The pair both filed for restraining orders against one another after Blanchard reportedly became frightened that her estranged husband might physically harm her.
Blanchard has since rekindled a relationship with former boyfriend Ken Urker. The two were previously engaged from 2018 to 2019, but never married.
