Grand National LIVE: Updates from Aintree as Cloth Cap and Minella Times favourites

0

3.45pm: Good afternoon and welcome to Express Sport’s live updates from the Grand National at Aintree.

Cloth Cap has been the early favourite and is continuing to be heavily backed. The nine-year-old finished third in the 2019 Scottish National and has the pedigree to take home the spoils.

Another name on many people’s lips is Rachel Blackmore, who shone at Cheltenham Festival last month.

She mounts Minella Times, which is trained by Henry de Bromhead and is a strong contender for the £1million prize.

If you want to know who to avoid then I’ve gone with Takingrisks, who is jockeyed by Sean Quinlan, which has come down from 20/1 to 14/1 this morning.

Grand National LIVE stream

Grand National programming has today’s big race starting at 5.15pm from Aintree racecourse in Liverpool.

People can watch on via ITV1 or its dedicated streaming services as it begins.

The races resume this year, more than a year after the last Grand National day in March 2020.

Back then, organisers were forced to cancel the occasion due to the coronavirus lockdown.
