Grand Central Terminal’s main concourse was closed to the public Thursday afternoon while officials prepared for planned protests, according to the MTA.
A 2:10 p.m. post to Metro-North Railroad’s X account warned customers to “build in extra travel time” as track assignments changed.
According to an MTA spokesperson, there was no impact to train service and the terminal remained open.
The famed concourse remained barricaded off, and patrolled by MTA police early Thursday evening.
The protest was organized by the group Within Our Lifetime, a pro-Palestinian activist organization that distributed online fliers directing protestors to meet in the midtown Manhattan terminal at 5:30 p.m., according to the handout obtained by the Daily News.
The demonstrators never entered the terminal and instead marched downtown toward Washington Square Park.
