Susanna Reid and Ben Shepherd welcomed Patsy Stevenson onto the ITV show to discuss the “terrifying” moment when she was pinned to the ground and arrested by police at the Clapham vigil on Saturday. The student fought back tears as she recalled the ordeal after arriving at the vigil to pay her respects to Sarah Everard.
Despite her arrest, Patsy made it clear she wasn’t “anti-police” and wanted to divert attention from the Clapham arrests to violence against women.
“The safety of women is the priority for me,” she remarked before welling up with tears.
It’s emotional for you,” Susanna commented and she replied: “It’s emotional for a lot of people.”
