George Clooney joins list of celebs urging Joe Biden to quit the race

Academy Award winner George Clooney has joined a growing list of liberal celebrities publicly telling President Joe Biden it’s time to exit stage left and quit the presidential race.

“It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fundraiser was not the Joe ‘big F-ing deal’ Biden of 2010,” Clooney wrote in a Wednesday New York Times op-ed. “He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.”

Clooney was one of the most high-profile personalities to participate in a record-breaking $30 million fundraiser in Los Angeles last month to support the 46th president’s reelection bid.

He wrote in his op-ed that while he considers Biden a friend, but believes the octogenarian is losing “the fight against time.”

The backlash against Biden began after the 81-year-old president bombed during a June 27 debate with Trump. The Democratic stalwart showed few signs of mental acuity.

He became confused while answering questions and offered little resistance as his opponent rattled off a steady stream of disinformation during that 90-minute debacle.

Earlier this week, progressive horror novelist Stephen King and left-leaning filmmaker Rob Reiner publicly called for Biden to make room for another Democratic nominee to challenge Donald Trump in November.

According to Clooney, he has privately spoken to lawmakers and governors who agree Biden isn’t up for the task of defeating Trump. Biden and his surrogates insist the incumbent is staying in the race and will again defeat the GOP challenger he trounced in the 2020 presidential election.

Despite calling on Biden to bow out of the race, it’s unlikely Clooney would support Trump under any circumstances. The 63-year-old “Michael Clayton” star previously mocked the 78-year-old as a “dumb goofball” desperate to hang out with celebrities and harass cocktail waitresses during a 2020 interview with SIRIUSXM host Howard Stern.

“He used to be that guy,” Clooney recalled.
