Telly fans were raving about the return of Gentleman Jack Season 2 on Sunday night.

When Anne Lister , played by Suranne Jones shared a passionate kiss with her lover Ann Walker, which soon led them to the bedroom to discuss ‘accounts,’ fans had plenty to say about the action just 20 minutes into the BBC1 show.

One said: “Gentleman Jack bloody hell pls pls slow down.”

The series written by Sally Wainwright is set in 1832 England.


It’s based on the real stories from Anne Lister’s diary.

Lister was born on April 3, 1791, in Halifax, United Kingdom.

She is often called “the first modern lesbian” and made history with her wife Ann Walker as the first lesbian marriage to be recorded.

Lister died on September 22, 1840, at the age of 49.

The series focuses on Listers’ many love affairs and marriage with Walker.

Gentleman Jack season 2 will be streaming on HBO Max starting April 25, 2022
