Gary Lineker health latest: Match of the Day host fears dementia after football career

0

The Match of the Day host, 60, noted that he and fellow presenters Alan Shearer and Ian Wright are aware the odds are against them when it comes to developing dementia; ex-footballers are 3.5 times more likely to die from the disease than the general population. “Come 10, 15 years… it might happen to one of us,” Lineker said. “The odds suggest that it probably will. “I’ll have my tri-annual test this summer and ask if there’s anything they can establish around the brain, because I don’t see how, given the circumstances any footballer wouldn’t be worried about it.”
