In addition he will face a race against time to be fit for the games at home to Belarus and Belgium in November.

Bale’s time at Real has been heavily affected by injuries – he has had 24 different problems since joining the club in 2013.

Last season Bale was loaned back to Tottenham, for whom he scored 16 goals in 34 appearances.

Since returning to Real, Bale has made three appearances in LaLiga, which included him scoring in the 3-3 draw with Levante.

Bale’s current contract at Real expires next summer, with his future remaining uncertain.
