Donald Trump reacts to Biden’s press conference

During the interview with his daughter-in-law Lara, Mr Trump spoke about running for President in 2024, criticised Joe Biden’s green agenda and lashed out against cancel culture. The interview was promoted across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

However, minutes before it was set to be uploaded onto Lara’s show, The Right View, Facebook sent her team an email and warned it would be removed if it went live as the former US president is still banned from its platforms.

Around twenty minutes after it went live, the social media giant emailed again and confirmed the interview has been taken down.

Sharing screenshots of the email onto Instagram, Lara said: “And just like that, we are one step closer to Orwell’s 1984. Wow.”

In their email, Facebook said the “content posted in the voice of President Trump is not currently allowed on our platforms (including new posts with President Trump speaking) and will be removed.”

It added: “This guidance applies to all campaign accounts and Pages, including Team Trump, other campaign messaging vehicles on our platforms and former surrogates.”

The former US President was banned from Twitter and Facebook – as well as Instagram – following the riots at the Capitol on January 6.

In the 18-minute interview, Mr Trump was asked whether he would run for President again in 2024.

He told his daughter-in-law: “You do have hope, that I can tell you, you do have hope.

“We love our country, this country, we all owe a lot to our country, but now we have to help our country.”

Mr Trump also slammed Mr Biden’s first two months in power and mocked his successor’s disastrous first press conference.

He said: “Well I think the press conference is probably the least of it.

“People saw a lot of things happening long-prior to the press conference – and even the trip up the stairs – up and down, three times – there are a lot of things going on, so we’ll see what happens.

“I hope he’s in good shape.

“I hope he’s OK for the sake of the country.”

Mr Trump compared the media coverage of when Mr Biden fell up the stairs to when he walked “inch by inch” down a ramp following a speech.

The former president said: “But they covered that for weeks, and this guy falls down three times, he couldn’t get up, the third time he didn’t know where the hell he was.

“And it was not on the evening news, other than a couple of networks, but it wasn’t ABC, CBS, NBC, and it got almost no coverage. It’s incredible.”

He ended his interview with Lara by warning: “During the summer you’re going to see things that nobody has ever seen before.

“It’s very dangerous, it’s very bad for our country and they’re destroying our country.”

Last week, Mr Biden raised eyebrows after the US President made multiple gaffes during his first press conference since taking office.

The US President was mocked for bringing a “study guide” binder to the podium during the White House briefing.

Despite the prompt cards, Mr Biden made several blunders during the conference and mistakenly claimed America ranked 85th in world infrastructure, before quickly correcting himself.

In one of his answers, he insisted he was good at getting things done in the US Senate but quickly trailed off and cut his sentence short.
