We are just two days away from the Australian Grand Prix and Friday’s practice sessions have already caused quite a considerable amount of drama. Alex Albon’s big crash may leave Williams with just one car for Sunday’s race, while Max Verstappen’s Red Bull was also damaged.
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc went fastest in the second practice session in Melbourne, 0.381s ahead of Verstappen after the Dutchman damaged his floor in FP1.
The first session also saw Albon go off in the high-speed first sector and hit two walls, putting his car in doubt though the driver is able to compete on Sunday.
However, Williams do not have a spare chassis and if Albon’s car needs a replacement, they will not be able to run both drivers and will need to make a decision over whether Albon or Logan Sargeant.
