Eyebrow trick can help you look younger with 'less noticeable fine lines and crow's feet'

In 2021, the anti-ageing industry worldwide was estimated to be worth around $62.6 billion (approximately £49.8 billion) and it’s predicted to grow even more in the years to come, according to Statista. Ageing is a natural part of life, but the figures show more and more people are turning to procedures and tricks to create a more youthful appearance.

However, you don’t always need to turn to high-end procedures to look younger.

Speaking previously to Express.co.uk, celebrity brow and lash artist Shavata Singh explained how your eyebrows play a major role in creating a softer and more youthful look. Shavata, whose concessions are located in Harvey Nichols stores across the UK and in Fenwick’s Newcastle has worked in the industry for over 30 years with an impressive client list including Adele, Victoria Beckham, Kate Hudson and Elle Macpherson.

Shavata Singh Brows and Lashes also has its own flagship studio in Chiswick, as well as more than 14k followers on the business’ Instagram page @Shavata_brows.

She explained how choosing the correct shape to complement your face can work wonders for your overall appearance and reduce the appearance of certain features.

“Shaping the brow cannot remove your fine lines, crows feet, dark circles or eye bags, however, by moving the arch slightly out, we can create an anti-ageing effect,” Shavata said.

“By making the brows just a shade narrower, the face becomes lighter, brighter and those lines and dark shadows become less noticeable.”

The easiest way to determine the right eyebrow shape is simply by following the natural curve of your brow. “One of the worst mistakes I see is people not following the natural shape of their brows,” she explained.

“Making them too thin, creating a tadpole look of too thick at centre with a thin tail or drawing them too heavy in the front are also big no-nos.”

She continued: “I never like to fight nature so if you have thick busy brows, don’t be tempted to pluck them within an inch of their life. I also like to see the way the brow muscles move naturally, which helps the artist define the natural shape of the brow.”

If you are unsure, one of the best things to do is to pay a visit to a professional who can help guide the shape of your brow and create a natural, complementary look. However, it’s also important to know how to look after your eyebrows – especially if you are someone who likes to wear make-up.

Over the years, you may notice your brows are thinner than they once were. This can happen as a natural part of ageing or be the result of overplucking in the past. But, if you do choose to fill in your brows Shavata wanted “less is always more”.

She added: “The main thing to remember is that eyebrows should complement the face but never be the main feature.”
