Dr Trillet-Noir struggled to stay connected by video link but when they returned to the conversation a few moments later, Reid listed the reasons why the EU should not be blocking the vaccine, arguing it had already risked enough lives.
“Frankly a lot of people do think, Dr Trillet-Noir, that the EU has tripped up,” Reid commented.
“The way that you procured vaccines was a mistake, the confidence that you’ve undermined with the AstraZeneca vaccine mistake, the suspension of the AstraZeneca roll out programme in 17 countries was a mistake.
