England get a win over Germany as Euro 2024 hosts booted out of hotel for Three Lions

The England squad are set to reside in one of the best available hotels for the Euros this summer, and even hosts Germany are envious of their hospitality.

Despite an underwhelming run of performances, the Three Lions head to the tournament as one of the favourites, along with the likes of France and Portugal.

Gareth Southgate has a tough task in ensuring that he can fit the plethora of talented, creative players into his squad without sacrificing balance in defence and midfield.

Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer and Anthony Gordon have all staked their claims as to why they should be among England’s front three this summer, with the lack of defensive-minded options in midfield meaning it is still unknown as to who will partner Declan Rice centrally.

Southgate therefore has plenty to think about over the coming few weeks, though one thing that he does not appear to need to worry about is his side’s hospitality in Germany.

According to The Sun, England are set to check into the Weimarer Land Golf Hotel and Spa imminently, which the team will be using as their base until the conclusion of the tournament.

It is stated that Germany had previously ‘eyed’ the hotel and even set up a training camp at the facilities, but their kit sponsors Adidas reportedly insisted that they must reside elsewhere and thus are staying in Herzogenaurach in southern Germany.

With such a top-quality hotel available, the FA pounced to ensure that England would stay at the venue instead. The owner of the Weimarer Land Golf Hotel and Spa, Matthias Grafe, spoke of how Julian Nagelsmann’s team were initially hoping to stay at his hotel before sponsorships stepped in to make some drastic changes.

He explained: “The German team wanted to be based at my hotel but they have been obliged to work with their sponsors so we’re delighted to welcome England instead. I have always said I’m only interested in having one team here — the team that wins the Euros — and I believe that team will be England.”
