Emmerdale fans were left up in arms last night after Al Chapman (played by Michael Wildman) fired Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade). Many thought he was not in the position to sack her from her role at Hawksford Outdoor Pursuits and suggested the mother-of-one had grounds to take legal action for unfair dismissal.
It came after a client, named Chloe arrived to discuss a partnership with the HOP when the conversation took a personal turn.
“Chloe, this is Al, he will be leading on the presentation,” Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) introduced and she commented: “You remind me a lot of him, my ex, I mean you look nothing alike, but I can see the same rotten core behind your eyes.
“You didn’t come across it then? In all your research about how my husband left me, tried to steal half my business! And all because he couldn’t resist a cheap smile and a short skirt,” Chloe continued.
“I don’t know what you’ve heard -” Al commented but she cut him off: “So, it’s not true then? You didn’t get engaged with a colleague and then have an affair with another woman?”

“Because you would give anything to make me look like a fool. If you can’t admit it, you leave me no choice,” Al warned and Priya probed: “What are you going to do? Fire me?”
“He can’t do that, so let’s just all take five,” Jai said diffusing the tension.
“You know, I can do that, once Kim finds out what I’ve done, she will be in full agreement, so pack your things and get out,” Al said.
Those watching at home were quick to take to Twitter to discuss the storyline inaccuracies.
