The European Medicines Agency (EMA) will hold a 3pm briefing on Wednesday. The briefing will discuss the investigation of the AstraZeneca vaccine relating to cases of thromboembolic events.
Speakers will include EMA executive director Emer Cooke and EMA safety committee chairwoman Dr Sabine Straus.
The UK’s MHRA and JCVI will also be giving a televised briefing at 3pm on Wednesday.
The briefing will be led by Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England Professor Jonathan Van-Tam, MHRA chief executive Dr June Raine, chair of the Committee of Human Medicines Sir Munir Pirmohamed and chair of the JCVI Professor Wei Shen.
