Death in Paradise season 10: What was the alternate ending?

Death in Paradise fans were left mixed by the cliffhanger to the season 10 finale. However, Neville Parker star Ralf Little has revealed they actually filmed two different versions of the final scene. Here’s what he revealed about it.

What was the alternate Death in Paradise ending?

The tenth season of Death in Paradise came to an end on Thursday, February 19.

There were plenty of revelations for the Honoré Police team in the series finale.

This included JP Hooper’s (played by Tobi Bakare) exit from the show as well as Officer Marlon Pryce (Tahj Miles) almost being fired.

However, it was the final few seconds, which left fans wanting more from the crime drama.

“We shot one, that’s left as it is, and we shot another ending, and I’m not going to tell you what the other ending looked like, because I’m not going to give you any clues!

“But there was some debate about whether the ending was going to be left as it was, on a cliffhanger, or to try and resolve in whatever direction. I’m not going to give you any clues!

“But in the end, obviously we decided that the cliffhanger was more interesting and I think it was probably right. Everyone is going to be asking!”

Acknowledging how fans are likely to react Florence actor Jobert added: “They’re going to be furious!”

While the pair did not reveal which way it would have gone for the couple, there have been plenty of rumours romance is on its way.

Little recently addressed rumours the characters will soon be beginning a romantic relationship on the show.

He tweeted on February 16: “I’ve noticed some @deathinparadise fans have started referring to a potential romance between Florence and Neville as “Floreville” and I am very much here for it.”

As well as this, the pair teased the possibility in a cast Q&A attended by Express.co.uk back in December.

Little said: “He is absolutely enchanted by this very beautiful, very charming, charismatic, warm and generous character.

“And, you know, he finds himself very much drawn to her. Where that will go in the series and in future series is anybody’s guess but yes he’s certainly very taken with her.

“Those two have a real connection in this series and hopefully we’ll get to see where that goes.

“He hasn’t managed to actually do anything about it yet, but we’ll see.”

Death in Paradise is available on BBC iPlayer now.
