The 24-year-old has played just 26 minutes of football in Serie A this season, with Mourinho favouring Tammy Abraham in the middle of a front three.

Mayoral fared much better under former manager Paulo Fonseca as he scored 17 goals and assisted seven in 47 games last season.

A product of Real Madrid’s academy, Mayoral has made 33 appearances for the Spanish giants since making his debut in 2015.

During that time, he has been loaned to Wolfsburg, Levante and Roma, where he’s currently at.

Palace have fared well in attack this season as they’ve scored 19 goals from their opening 13 games this season.

Christian Benteke looks to be rejuvenated this campaign having scored four league goals. Summer signing Odsonne Edouard has also fared well as he has scored three goals.

Patrick Vieira’s side lost 2-1 to Aston Villa on a Saturday, a result which brought their seven-game unbeaten run to an end. But the Eagles currently occupy 10th spot and will take-on Leeds next weekend.
